Alasdair is currently Europe Head of Surveillance at Royal Bank of Canada having previously held roles in Surveillance at Barclays and the Financial Conduct Authority. At Barclays he worked predominantly on the delivery of Fixed Income Surveillance and Natural Language Communications Surveillance. In his eight years at the FCA Alasdair worked on a wide range of Insider Dealing and Market Manipulation investigations before moving into the Surveillance team where he led on the supervision of firms’ surveillance programmes and provided significant technical input into the text of the MAR STOR Requirements. He is interested in how to make surveillance more effective and efficient using technology, data and innovative techniques.
