Poornima Hatti has extensive experience in advising clients across jurisdictions in all aspects of dispute resolution. She has represented clients in both international commercial arbitration and domestic arbitrations, litigation before various fora in India including the Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi, Karnataka High Court and various courts in South East Asia.

Poornima also sits as an independent external chairperson on committees to prevent sexual harassment at the workplace for various Indian and multi-national corporates.

Prior to joining the Firm, Poornima was with a leading international firm Herbert Smith Freehills at their Singapore office where she assisted clients across various Asian jurisdictions. Her past experience also includes working in Bangalore as a sole practitioner and working with Amarchand Mangaldas as part of their dispute resolution practice in New Delhi. Poornima has also been closely involved in mediations across Asia and has been trained by the Singapore Mediation Centre.

Poornima is a visiting faculty member at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore and lectures at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore on request.

Poornima also works with various civil society organisations in Bengaluru. She sits on the board of Daksh, a non-profit organization, which is working on developing data-based accountability mechanisms in institutions of governance.

Poornima has a B.A., LL.B (Hons.) from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, (2003), and a LLM from London School of Economics, UK (2006), where she was awarded the graduate merit scholarship.

She has also co-edited a book on leadership and role modelling at the workplace mentoring at the workplace which has been published in 2018 by Springer. She has also contributed to a book on women and leadership, edited by Dr Payal Kumar published by Palgrave Macmillan. Poornima is admitted to practice law in India.

In her free time, Poornima loves reading and story-telling to toddlers. She loves historic walks in urban landscapes and is particularly pleased when she discovers new trivia. She has a growing interest in modern Indian art.
