Karan heads the dispute resolution and competition law practice at Chandhiok & Mahajan. In addition to his disputes and competition practice, Karan also has extensive experience in advising airlines and lessors on contentious and non-contentious matters; and on the financing and regulatory aspects of aviation in India.

Ranked amongst the Top 100 lawyers in India by IBLJ, Karan is recognised as one of the leaders of the Indian bar; and finds mention as leading lawyer by various international publications such as Chambers & Partners, Global Competition Law Review, International Financial Law Review, Who’s Who Legal and Asialaw Leading Lawyers. Karan’s practice focuses on all aspects of antitrust law. He has extensive experience in advising and representing clients on mergers, commercial arrangements, strategic alliances, behavioral (cartel and dominance) cases before the CCI, the NCLAT, High Courts and the Supreme Court.

Karan's disputes practice focuses on commercial and cross border disputes involving corporations, financial institutions, state enterprises, investors, and HNIs He has represented and led advocacy before international and domestic arbitral tribunals, and courts in India.

He has acted for various corporations in the IT and ITES, banking and finance, glass, steel, cement, tyres, automotive components, liquor, aviation, telecommunications, healthcare, bio-technology, pharma, retail, transport, infrastructure and media sectors.

Karan read for the bachelor of civil law degree at the University of Oxford. He is dual qualified in India and in England & Wales.
