Profile
Ms. Natznet Tesfay leads on Africa within IHS Markit’s Economics and Country Risk business, which forecasts political, operational and sovereign risks as well as macro-economic indicators. Her areas of specialization include political developments affecting the power and offshore energy sectors in West Africa, particularly Nigeria and commercial developments, especially in mining, energy, and infrastructure in East Africa. Natznet contributes directly to business growth across Africa, advising C-suites on market entry and risk management strategies and African governments on how to leverage their resource potential for diversification and industrial growth.
In 2017, Natznet was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. She regularly speaks in major media outlets and at high-level conferences. Previously, at Exclusive Analysis she managed the Africa intelligence team of in-country analysts and sources, as well as Exclusive Analysis’s Johannesburg office. She also advised municipal governments on sustainably developing megacities and national governments in East Africa on the development of free trade zones, foreign policy and the mining sector. Natznet has an MSc in Urbanisation and Development from the London School of Economics, and a BA in Government from Harvard University.
