The Connecticut Maritime Association is an organization for its members by its members.

Today, Southwestern Connecticut is home to more maritime-related businesses than any comparable area in the country and has become one off the most important shipping centers in North America and the shipping world.
For thirty four years members of the CMA have worked together to produce the annual Conference and Trade Exhibition - ensuring that the ideas and activities meet the expectations of a busy and fast paced international maritime industry.
During the remainder of the year the CMA organizes monthly luncheons for the exchange of commercial information and networking: sponsors thousands of dollars of scholarships to assist the next generation coming into our industry: runs a major internship program providing jobs to dozens of young college aged students; hosts special events such as a major fund raiser for and abroad a Liberty Ship: host a remarkable America's Cup 12-meter Regatta on Long Island Sound: and works each day to meet its goal to: provide an open forum for individuals to exchange ideas and information supporting the development and growth of the maritime industry and international trade.
