Chronis Kapalidis is an Academy Stavros Niarchos Foundation Fellow at the International Security Department, Chatham House. He is also a Visiting Research Fellow of the Dartmouth Centre for SeaPower and Strategy, Plymouth University, a member of ECPR and a Senior Research Fellow of the Maritime & Seapower Analyses Group, Athens. He has over 15 years of professional experience as a Lieutenant Commander in the Hellenic Navy where he specialised in IT infrastructure, Operations and Intelligence Analysis. Additionally, he is a part-time lecturer and tutor in military HE and a certified Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) instructor. He has also published widely on Maritime Security, Cybersecurity and the migrant crisis in Europe.
